Get to know me!
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I started my business career at an early age assisting with our family storefront businesses. This drive has carried on throughout my life. My father was a satellite engineer for 30 years with Lockheed Martin and his career eventually relocated our family to Cape Canaveral, Florida. After attending Florida Atlantic University BA, I relocated to San Francisco, CA to work for McCann Erickson, the largest advertising company at that time. This allowed me to learn enterprise and corporate accounting. After building this foundation I then wanted to expand my skillset to learn non-profit project accounting so I joined BACR. This exposed me to project management and my interest started to gravitate towards running the day-to-day business operations.
In 2011 I was presented with an opportunity to move to New York city to work for a large international company called Simcorp, and off I went. This role exposed me to the fundamentals of a SAAS based industry which involved creating, maintaining, and allocating budgets for implementation and software development teams globally. Simcorp is a publicly traded company so ensuring all KPI’s are tracked to meet regional objectives was key to a successful role. After one too many winters it was time to move back to the golden state (California).
In 2013 this was a pivotal point in my career where I wanted to move toward business operations and program business management. I was able to acquire an accounting operations role with Early Growth Financial Services, an early-stage startup at the time, and from there I climbed up the ladder to become a Director of Operations. My current role as a Director of Operations has allowed me to operate in a fast-paced environment and to create, execute, and maintain revenue objectives throughout various departments. Overseeing 60+ employees plus an offshore team of 10 has its challenges, but it has elevated me to a new level of organization and communication skills.
By having extensive experience in the finance consulting industry working closely with various technology startups has allowed me to gain insights in all business functions of fast growing companies. I am an immediate contributor on any project or team that I’m a part of, and as an effective manager, some of the qualities I contribute include leadership, organization, communication, and transparency. As a leader, I love to mentor and make those around me better by providing both praise and constructive feedback. Being detail-oriented and organized allows me to dive in to manage complex projects while also understanding how they fit into the bigger picture and prioritize efficiently.
I am looking for my next challenge and opportunity to work with a team that runs on clear communication and is passionate. I want to align myself with a company I believe in and where I can create positive change. I am always eager to learn, grow, and contribute. I want to contribute a positive attitude cross functionally and understand pressing objectives to become an immediate contributor to my new team and company.
Establishing high level objectives and corresponding key results typically starts with having clear communication around the what ? and the why? and how are these initiatives measured as successful. I have developed a workflow and manual on how to initiate, track and maintain quarterly KPI's for the team. This includes areas such as customers, growth, employees and operational excellence.
Having collaborative team dashboards, utilization charts and project plans are areas that are critical to ensure everything moves forward operationally. Having experience in creating google sites, sharepoint, SQL and various tools is key to ensure an aligned process with stakeholders and leadership.
Having experience in project management and program management has help drive successful integrations and internal process improvements. Using the PMBOK model it allows me to follow a structure to execute on decision making and advising internal and external stakeholders efficiently. I am currently set to sit for my PMP certification in 2022.
Learning and leading starts by understanding the needs and formulating a plan. Having the ability to listen, adapt and teach is fundamental to building cross functional relationships. Having experience working with leadership and gaining negotiating skills for resources or strategy is an area I thrive in.
I am an extremely organized individual, I typically create buckets and agendas based on the needs and timelines. Communication is key in staying organized and keeping everyone aligned.
